Create your story in this puzzle game

Storyteller is a premium video game developed by Daniel Benmergui that challenges players to write their stories. This reactive puzzle game gives players a title, characters, and settings. Then, they must put them all together in a narrative that unfolds across a short storyboard.

The Storyteller game comes with a library full of characters and themes. It also includes different types of storylines, including love, lies, madness, infidelity, and remorse. In this interactive experience, you'll construct storylines using elements reminiscent of comic book panels, reshaping the lives, betrayals, romances, and medieval characters’ destinies.

How do you play the game?

In Storyteller, players are tasked to put together a story based on the characters, titles, and settings provided by the game. They can do so by arranging everything in comic strip panels. Arranging is as simple as clicking and dragging the story elements from the bottom to any of the comic panels. The level is cleared if you wrote a plot that corresponds to the provided title.

As mentioned, there are various storylines available in the game, including love, remorse, madness, and more. There is also a wide range of characters, from heroes and villains to vampires and dragons. With this, you can write anything that comes to mind. Although, note that how everything behaves in panels is contextual. It also builds on their innate character, relationships established in the previous panels, and what's already happened.

Staying true to its name, this game comes with a visual style that utilizes fairytale-style illustration and comic book-like layouts. What makes things more fun is the little animations for actions and reactions, especially if your answers are wrong or your scene does not correspond to the title. However, this game is too short that it can be completed within a mere two-hour timeframe.

A free content update

In this update, you'll encounter new chapters, themes, and cunning new characters that enhance your immersion in the game while introducing an exciting twist. The new character is a mischievous demon prepared to spread chaos across different narrative cues. Furthermore, the new Genesis chapter transforms previously polished and extended levels into four new captivating stages, adding an extra layer of replayability.

Additional characters have been introduced in this update, including a dog companion, a God-like divine entity, and the iconic snake symbolizing Adam and Eve-themed levels. Furthermore, the game incorporates new in-game challenges through a stamp collection feature.

Should you play it?
